Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust is re-opening the “Growing Communities for Health” Small Grants Scheme for 2015/16.
If your community garden project is seeking funding for next year, there are grants of up to £500 available.
The grant scheme, supported by City of Edinburgh Council and NHS Lothian, is now in its fourth year and since 2012, 50 groups have received funding, paying for everything from gloves and tools to compost bins.
This fund is to support community gardening projects which benefit people with existing health issues, those experiencing cultural or social barriers to accessing greenspaces or those living in areas of deprivation.
You can apply for up to £500 to support your community gardening project, to fund activities such as buying tools, equipment and materials, creating raised beds, setting up composting facilities, paying for volunteer expenses etc. Priority will be given to projects which have not previously received this grant, although all applications are welcome.
