Good to Grow is a campaign coordinated by Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming that aims to get more people involved in food growing. The Good to Grow network holds an annual weekend of action in April for edible gardens to celebrate and prepare for the new growing season, promote their activities and encourage people to volunteer.
If you would like to register your edible garden with Edinburgh’s Good to Grow network, you can do so here. Community gardens, allotments, school gardens, city farms, growing enterprises and growers are all welcome to register. Once registered you’ll have access to the Harvest-ometer, a simple online tool helps growers keep track of how much food they grow and how much money they save. It stores your yield data and converts it into a money value, meal value and makes great graphs that you can show friends, family, supporters or even funders! Registering is free and takes about five minutes.
