Veg Cities

Veg Cities aims to increase vegetable consumption by working with local partners.

Veg Cities is a Sustainable Food Places campaign, led by food and farming charity Sustain in partnership with the wider Peas Please initiative. Veg Cities aims to increase vegetable consumption by working with local partners. Edinburgh became a Veg City in early 2019, which also coincided with the launch of the national Veg Power campaign. Edible Edinburgh encourage local organisations and businesses to make veg pledges, our partners at Nourish also lead on the Peas Peas initiative in Scotland.

If you are taking action on increasing vegetable consumption then take a pledge for veg! There are plenty of ideas and inspiration on Veg Cities initiatives to get you started here, whether you’re a community group, food grower or workplace. All veg pledges are recorded on the Edinburgh Veg City webpage – get in touch and your pledge can be added to the list of other organisations taking action to get Edinburgh growing, cooking, selling and saving more vegetables.
