On Monday the Edible Edinburgh team opened the doors on the Capital’s commitment to good, sustainable food for all.
Councillor Lesley Hinds and Development Officer Emma Witney gave a talk about Edible Edinburgh as part of the Cockburn Association’s Doors Open Day 2015 celebrations, which are based on a theme of ‘Food and Drink’ this year.
Take a look at their slides:
The team welcomed the focus on food and drink in the city for Doors Open Day and set out the thinking behind Edible Edinburgh and its aim to inspire and motivate everyone to work together to build new approaches to food. Cllr Hinds and Emma talked about how the partnership believes we can all make positive choices that are healthier and tastier and which bring social, economic and environmental benefits to the whole community.
Attendees were impressed to hear just how much is happening in Edinburgh to promote sustainable food, and the team encouraged everyone present to sign up to the Edible Edinburgh Charter to show their support.
More information will be available as part of Doors Open Day across this weekend at the City Chambers and St Stephens.
