Inspiring Food Event

Pupils’ from St Peter’s Primary School, Edinburgh celebrating their veg growing

15th February 2022 by Vivienne Swan

Be part of a movement for change! Get inspired by our local food heroes, enjoy the food tasting, stalls and lunch.

The Inspiring Food Event is being held in collaboration with Edinburgh College at the Granton Campus on Friday 25th February from 1100 to 1400. Registration is via Eventbrite link below. https://inspiringfoodevent25february2022.eventbrite.co.uk

The event aims to highlight Edinburgh’s ambitions to be a leading sustainable food place through showcasing the talents of businesses, organisations and people involved in our local food economy and projects. There will be cooking demonstrations, networking, stalls and lunch.

The event is timed to align to Fairtrade Fortnight, the annual campaign that champions fairness in our trade with global producers.

Edible Edinburgh will be launching a new Sustainable Food Directory at the event and encouraging new entries to the guide. The Sustainable Food Directory has been set up to promote food businesses, organisations and community initiatives promote their services, approach and commitment to sustainability.

Users will be able to search for information and services including:

  • Places to eat and buy food
  • Growing spaces and producers
  • Markets, stalls and food pop-ups
  • Community food initiatives
