Changeworks are helping householders save up to £437 a year by delivering Love Food Hate Waste workshops online. Attendees learn how to save money through menu planning, shopping smartly and using up leftovers.

Scottish households throw out 600,000 tonnes of food each year and 60% of the food thrown out from households could have been avoided had the food been managed differently.

Changeworks have adapted their dynamic in person sessions to be interactive online. The hour-long workshop covers the environmental and economic implications of wasting food and attendees are empowered with skills and steps they can take home.

So far Changeworks has hosted sessions for a variety of employers and community groups across Edinburgh and Scotland, with attendees pledging to make a change to reduce their food waste.

Attendees said:

‘The session was excellent. Thanks again to you for giving up your evening to present to us.”

Friends of Saughton Park

“Brilliant workshop, tutors were passionate about their subject, well informed and really good at presenting information and keeping the audience interested and involved. I learnt more than I expected and looking forward to putting it into practice.”

Lairg and District Learning Centre

“Loved the workshop this morning and will definitely take some of the tips on board.” “That was really good, I loved how interactive it was – which is hard to achieve online.”

Highland and Islands Enterprise

These workshops are free of charge and delivered by expert advisors. They are fully funded by the Scottish Government and delivered in partnership with Zero Waste Scotland and the Energy Saving Trust.

Get in touch with Changeworks to book a workshop for your employees, volunteers or community group members (minimum 10), email askLCC@changeworks.org.uk
