Join us in celebrating World Food Day on 16th October 2020!
This October thousands of people will be celebrating the United Nation’s World Food Day, which this year is about recognising our food heroes – farmers, growers, cooks and all those working across the food system to help people get good food. Now more than ever we need to eat well and connect with our communities.
Edible Edinburgh have teamed up with the Soil Association to bring you Edinburgh’s World Food Day Festival on Friday 16th October 2020. This virtual event will celebrate Scotland’s local food culture and showcase some of the food activity that is happening across the city on World Food Day.
World Food Day is also one of the Soil Association’s key events for involving communities in Food for Life Get Togethers, which are events and activities that help connect people through good food. The Soil Association have small grants available to support community led food growing, cooking and sharing activities, as well as other resources and a World Food Day Hamper of activities to help bring your event to life. Join in with a planned event or host your own activity, big or small. If your organisation would like to be part of Edinburgh’s World Food Day Festival, please get in touch.
